You Are What you Speak
Life won’t change if you don’t change. What do I mean by that? The way you see and experience the world is entirely within your control, which means taking care of your mind and body is essential. The first step in self-care is being mindful of the words you use in your daily speech.
Our minds are incredibly powerful, but they don’t always distinguish between what we mean and what we don’t. When we speak negatively about ourselves, our brain registers those words as truths, regardless of our intentions.
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “If you can’t love yourself, who can you love?” It rings true on many levels. The person you should love first and foremost is yourself.
Be intentional with your words, especially when it comes to how you talk about yourself. Speak kindly, and be forgiving when you make mistakes or act out of character. Life is about making mistakes, adjusting, and moving forward—so treat yourself with the love and respect you deserve.
People can be harsh enough; why not show yourself kindness every chance you get? Trust me, loving yourself makes all the difference in the world.
